Obamarama Power Trip
Where were you on Inauguration Day?
Come and relive it on the new President Obama Inauguration Walking Tour
Led by WashingTours & Events

Inspired by P. Andrew Costello’s new book The Presidential Plot, join us as we recreate President Obama’s path to the White House by walking part of the inauguration route. Walk past Lafayette Park where Frederick Douglas walked, visit the Blair/Lee house where the President left that morning, the same house in which Robert E. Lee refused to lead the northern armies, visit St .John’s Church, Obama’s first visit of the day, as it was for Lincoln. See Decatur House in whose yard was a local slave market, See famous hotels like the Hay Adams where the Obama family moved into when they arrived in DC, and the Willard where Martin Luther King Jnr stayed the night before he gave the speech that so inspired Obama, see where the Obama children play and the first Lady's garden, and hear the W hite House’s untold Irish and African-American stories that echo President Obama’s own.

Available every weekend in June, July, and August. Meet at Freedom Plaza opposite the National Theatre.
Cost $10.00.
